The MPAA hasn’t done anything good since it created the PG-13 rating in 1985. Their biggest accomplishments since then? restricting PG-13 movies to one instance of the word “fuck” and making movies that don’t put a paragraph long disclaimer about tobacco products at the end of its credits get an automatic R rating. You know, instead of do what they were created to do and provide a guideline for parents to make judgements themselves. Rather, they make the judgements for the parents now. So the fact that they’re still messed up enough to think it’s okay for teens to see sexual violence against women but not consensual sex really shouldn’t be surprising. Shocking and angering, hell yes. Surprising, no.
And I’m still 99% certain the first Terminator movie was R rated because of the clearly passionate lovemaking between Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese moreso than the swearing and violence.

I can’t stop laughing at Harry running the fuck away, the boy who lived ladies and gentlemen.
….You realize, of course, that Hermione Granger lit a teacher on fire when she was eleven, and kept a person alive in a jar for a year when she was fourteen, and studies dark and forbidden magics for kicks, and is one of the brightest and strongest witches of her era. If she came at me, even wandless, I would aparate to Neptune to get away from her.
